Expert HEI consultants are invaluable for companies developing a new product, but lacking some of the necessary resources in-house. Our staff works with clients to bring the product into pre-production or production as required.

A development project begins with the product definition. Depending on a client's need, HEI might first carry out market research, analyzing the new product's competition and marketplace: what the competition offers, what customers want, and what's available at various price points. We've done this for a variety of projects, including multimedia LAN/ATM embedded PBXs, interactive collaboration systems, audio and video codec systems, multipoint control units, acoustic echo cancellers, videoconferencing rollabouts and system-level integration. Design criteria have included commercial, telco CO and customer premises (CPE) operating environments.

HEI provides a diversity of ancillary services in support of new product development. We do performance verification, using various standards-compliant test suites like those from ANSI, ITU-T, ISO and AT&T, providing objective and independent data, relevant to client's engineering and marketing staff, as well as to the marketplace.
