HEI gets repeat client business because we believe in giving customers good value for money, including doing the job right the first time. We like to start with a mutual non-disclosure agreement (NDA) for everybody's protection.
Depending upon a client's vision of the web site's complexity, within the framework of their marketing plan and the organization's corporate objectives, we might only need to gather information from some several key individuals, or for more extensive assignments, we will undertake a needs assessment, allowing us to recommend what is the best approach to meet all the corporate objectives. At the same time, it is imperative not to lose sight of the concept that your site is visited to help solve a problem for an existing or potential customer.
Our preferred approach is to make web sites no more complex than is needed to reach your intended audience with the desired message. Although some animated graphics can be attractive, if they don't provide added value to your organization's marketing message, don't include them on your wish list — they will make any page slower to load, harder (or impossible) for search engines to index, difficult to display on hand-held devices, and hard to parse for visually impaired users. On the other hand, if your organization produces video games, animations could be really appropriate. Be aware too that complex animations will increase both the initial and operating costs for your web site.
The choice of a theme for the site, its look-and-feel, its color scheme and graphics style, is an important marketing consideration. The theme is influenced by the organization, its logo, trade marks and so forth, together with products and services offered. For new companies or those needing a make-over, HEI can help create an entire corporate identity as part of a new web presence.
After client approval, especially with more complex scenarios, HEI may produce a site prototype for the client's consideration.
